● Antioxidative effect
Black Chokeberry powder contains polyphenolic compounds such as anthocyanins, caffeic acid and caffeic acid derivatives, all of which have strong antioxidant activity, among which cyanidin 3-O-β- D-galactoside is its main antioxidant component.

The activities of glutamate aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase can prevent the production of malondialdehyde and the reduction of glutathione content in the liver of rats caused by CCl4.
